WORK AREA

n Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered

benches and dark areas invite accidents.

nDo not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids or gases. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

nDon’t expose power tools to rain. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock or mal- function.

nUse battery only with charger listed.

PERSONAL SAFETY

nStay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

nDress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts and exhaust. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

nDo not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enables better control of the tool in unexpected situations. Do not use on a ladder or unstable support.

nUse safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask must be used for appropriate conditions.

TOOL USE AND CARE

nDo not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is danger- ous and must be repaired.

nStore idle tools out of the reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

nMaintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

nCheck for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation. If damaged, have the tool serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.

nUse only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may create a risk of injury when used on another tool.

SERVICE

nTool service must be performed only by qualified re- pair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.

nWhen servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance sec- tion of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES

nDo not allow children to operate hand vac or play with hand vac as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children.

nThis hand vac is intended for household use ONLY.

nUse this hand vac ONLY for its intended use as described in this manual. Use only the attachments recommended in this manual.

nIf hand vac is not working properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return to your nearest service center.

nDo not abuse cord. Never carry charger or base by the cord or yank to disconnect from electrical outlet. Grasp charger, not the cord, and pull to unplug. Do not allow

cord to hang over edge of table or counter or to touch hot surfaces.

nDo not handle charger or hand vac with wet hands.

nDo not put any objects in ventilation openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.

nNEVER vacuum materials such as hot coals, cigarette butts, matches, etc

nDo not use without dust bowl or filter in place.

nTurn off all controls before unplugging from or plugging into an electrical outlet for charging.

nUse extra care when using on stairs.
