Blocked impeller	Clear the blockage as described in Clearing a Blocked

Damaged impeller	Take the unit to an authorized service dealer
Dirty bag	Clean the vacuum bag
Torn bag	Replace the vacuum bag
Bag unzipped	Zip up the vacuum bag
Unit unplugged	Plug into an outlet or an extension cord
