The DMD panel used for the PICO projector consists of hundreds of thousands of tiny mirrors. Just like many other types of image displays, the DMD panel may include bad pixels. The criteria for distinguishing bad pixels and the maximum quantity of bad pixels allowed for the DMD panel are strictly controlled by our company and the manufacturer of the DMD panel before shipment according to the predefined specifications. Though some pixels may not be visible in the screen, this neither affects the picture quality significantly, nor the lifespan of the projector.
