Uno dei vantaggi del servizio RDS è che l'ascoltatore può individuare un particolare tipo di programma proveniente dai canali preimpostati specificando i codici PTY.

Per cercare un programma servendosi dei codici PTY:

Prima di cominciare, rammentare quanto segue:

•La ricerca PTY è applicabile solo alle stazioni preimpostate.

•Per interrompere la procedura in qualunque momento, premere PTY SEARCH durante la ricerca.

•Esiste un limite di tempo per l'esecuzione dei passaggi descritti di seguito. Se l'impostazione viene annullata prima della fine, sarà necessario ricominciare dal punto 1.

•Quando si premono i pulsanti del telecomando principale, accertarsi di aver selezionato la stazione FM per mezzo dello stesso telecomando.

1Premere PTY SEARCH durante l'ascolto di una stazione FM.

2Premere PTY + oppure PTY – fino a visualizzare il codice PTY desiderato.

•Il display riporta i codici PTY descritti a destra.

3Premere di nuovo PTY SEARCH, mentre il codice PTY selezionato nel passaggio precedente è ancora visualizzato nella finestra del display.

•L'unità centrale cerca fra le 15 stazioni FM preimpostate, si ferma quando trova la stazione selezionata, e si sintonizza su tale stazione.
