Nel programma RealVNC il server e il viewer comunicano tramite protocollo VNC. È necessario installare un server RealVNC nel computer che si desidera controllare da remoto e un VNC viewer sul computer che esegue il controllo remoto del computer in cui è installato il server RealVNC. Perciò il programma server RealVNC è installato in un client Windows XP Embedded.

Enhanced Write Filter

Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) protegge un volume flash da accesso in scrittura e, di conseguenza, conserva la funzionalità del dispositivo flash. EWF procura al client l’accesso in lettura e scrittura mediante la cache, invece che permettere l’accesso diretto al volume flash.

I dati memorizzati nella cache sono effettivi solo mentre si esegue il client. I dati della cache andranno persi quando il client viene riavviato o chiuso. Per questo motivo è necessario memorizzare i dati scritti nel registro, nelle cartelle dei preferiti, dei cookies ecc.; i contenuti memorizzati nella cache dovranno essere trasferiti al dispositivo flash. Un messaggio di errore verrà visualizzato nel caso non fosse possibile scrivere sulla cache a causa della memoria insufficiente. Quando viene visualizzato questo messaggio, è necessario disattivare l’EWF per procedere a svuotare la cache EWF. Per fare ciò, basta fare doppio clic sull’icona EWF nella barra in basso a destra dello schermo per visualizzare il Manager EWF. In alternativa, è possibile cambiare la configurazione EWF accedendo ai comandi del Manager EWF dal prompt dei comandi. Questa operazione richiede privilegi di amministratore.
