Razmak između točaka (eng. "dot pitch")

Zaslon monitora sastoji se od točaka crvene, zelene i plave boje. Manji razmak između točaka znači višu rezoluciju. Razmak između točaka predstavlja najmanji razmak između točaka iste boje. Razmak između točaka mjeri se u milimetrima.

Okomita frekvencija

Kako bi korisnik mogao vidjeti sliku na zaslonu, monitor istu sliku prikazuje mnogo puta u jednoj sekundi (poput fluorescentne svjetiljke koja treperi). Učestalost kojom se jedna slika uzastopno prikazuje tijekom jedne sekunde naziva se okomita frekvencija ili učestalost osvježavanja. Okomita frekvencija mjeri se u Hz.

Na primjer, 60 Hz znači da se pojedinačna slika u jednoj sekundi prikaže 60 puta.

Vodoravna frekvencija

Vrijeme potrebno za skeniranje jedne linije od lijeve do desne strane zaslona naziva se vodoravni ciklus. Broj koji odgovara vodoravnom ciklusu naziva se vodoravna frekvencija. Vodoravna frekvencija mjeri se u kHz.

Plug & Play

Plug & Play je funkcija koja omogućava automatsku razmjenu informacija između monitora i računala kako bi se omogućilo optimalno okruženje za prikaz. Proizvod za izvršenje funkcije Plug & Play koristi međunarodni standard VESA DDC.

Rezolucija

Rezolucija je broj vodoravnih točaka (piksela) i okomitih točaka (piksela) koje čine zaslon. Predstavlja razinu detaljinizoranosti zaslona. Viša rezolucije omogućava prikaz većeg broja podataka na zaslonu i korisna je za istovremeno izvođenje više zadataka.
