Il modo migliore per proteggere il monitor dal fenomeno della ritenzione dell'immagine consiste nell'impostare il PC o il sistema per avviare un programma di Screen Saver quando non si utilizza lo schermo.

La ritenzione dell'immagine potrebbe non verificarsi quando si utilizza lo schermo LCD in condizioni normali.

Per condizioni normali si intende un cambiamento continuo delle immagini visualizzate a schermo.
