Format

		Errors can occur if you use a memory card formatted
		by another brand of camera, a memory card reader, or
		a computer. Please format memory cards in the camera
		before using them to capture photos.



Reset	Reset the setup menu and shooting options to the factory
Reset	defaults. (Date, time, language, and video output settings

Set the method of creating ﬁle names.

•	Standard*: SAM_XXXX.JPG(sRGB)/
	_SAMXXXX.JPG(Adobe RGB)
•	Date:
	-	sRGB ﬁles - MMDDxxxx.JPG. For example, for a photo
File Name	-	taken on Jan. 01, the ﬁle name would be 0101xxxx.jpg.
File Name	-	AdobeRGB ﬁles - MDDxxxx.JPG for the months Jan
		through Sept. For the months Oct through Dec, the
		month number is replaced by the letters A (Oct.), B
		(Nov.) and C (Dec.).
		For example, for a photo taken on Feb. 03, the ﬁle name
		would be 203xxxx.jpg. For a photo taken on Oct. 05,
		the ﬁle name would be A05xxxx.jpg.

•Series*: New ﬁle numbers continue the existing number sequence, even if you have installed a new memory card, formatted the card, or deleted all photos.

•Reset: After using the reset function, the next ﬁle name is started at 0001.


		•	The ﬁrst folder name is 100PHOTO, if you have
			selected the sRGB color space and Standard ﬁle
			naming, the ﬁrst ﬁle name is SAM_0001.
File Number		•	File name numbers are increased by 1 from SAM_0001
			to SAM_9999.
		•	Folder numbers are increased by 1 from 100PHOTO to
			999PHOTO.
		•	The maximum number of ﬁles that can be saved in one
			folder is 9999.
		•	File numbers are assigned according to DCF (Design
			rule for Camera File system) speciﬁcations.
		•	If you change a ﬁle name (for example, on a computer),
			the camera will not be able to play the ﬁle.
