Section 8: Settings

This section explains Settings for customizing your device.

Accessing Settings

To access Settings:

From a Home screen, touch Apps Settings.

Touch the top of the screen and swipe downward to

display the Notification Panel, then touch Settings. For more information, refer to “Quick Settings” on page 24.

The Settings Screen

The Settings screen has tabs on the left side of the screen. Information related to the tabs displays on the right side of the screen. There are four major groups of settings:

Wireless and network, Device, Personal, Accounts, and System.

Wireless and Network

Control your device’s wireless connections.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that provides access to local area networks.

Wi-Fi communication requires access to an existing Wireless Access Point (WAP). WAPs can be Open (unsecured, as with most hotspots) or Secured (requiring you to provide login credentials). Your device supports the 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi protocol.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology for exchanging information over a distance of about 30 feet.
