INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE CARDS

The images and audio recordings recorded by your digital camera are stored on the data storage card installed in the digital camera. You must install a card before you can capture images. For more information on handling the cards, see “Cautions when handling the CompactFlash or microdrive” on page 12 and “Cautions when using the microdrive” on page 131. Before using the supplied CompactFlash card or an unused card, format it using the digital camera (see page 118).

Installing a Card

1 Set the main switch to “MONITOR OFF” or “CAMERA.”

2 Close the lens cover.

3 Make sure the power is turned off, then open the

4 Insert the card.

œMake sure the contacts are facing downward and insert the card in the direction shown by the arrow

(l mark).

œ Be sure to insert the card all the way until it is fully inserted.

5 Push down the eject button and close the card slot cover.

œWhen a card is inserted, the eject button will stand up. Push down the eject button in the direction indicated by the arrow.
