Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection Client
The Symantec Endpoint Protection Client is the only Symantec Endpoint Protection application that you can install on the DX8100 server.
NOTES:
•You cannot install the client on the DX8100 server from a remote computer.
•If you download the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to the DX8100 server, do not install it on the server. You must install the Endpoint Protection Manager on a remote computer. The DX8100 server is not designed to support security administration.
•You can administer Symantec Endpoint Protection either locally at the DX8100 server or from a remote computer on the network.
INSTALLING FOR LOCAL ADMINISTRATION
The Symantec Endpoint Protection Client is installed and administered on the DX8100 server.
1.From the Windows environment on the DX8100 server, browse to the location of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Setup application.
2.Click Setup and follow the Symantec installation instructions to install the software.
3.Configure the Symantec Endpoint Protection Client. Refer to the Symantec Endpoint Protection documentation.
4.Restart the DX8100 application.
INSTALLING FOR REMOTE ADMINISTRATION
The Symantec Endpoint Protection Client is installed on the DX8100 server. The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is installed on a remote computer. The client is administered from the remote computer.
1.From the Windows environment on the DX8100 server, browse to the location of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Setup application.
2.Click Setup and follow the Symantec installation instructions to install the software.
3.Install and configure the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on a remote computer. Refer to the Symantec Endpoint Protection documentation.
4.Restart the DX8100 application..
