14.maintenance instructions

13.5The battery % shown in tester mode is an estimate based on the battery voltage and a scale set by the Battery Council International. The battery % shown in charger mode is an estimate of the relative charge in the battery compared to the charge it should have if the charging process is allowed to complete.

13.6The battery % shown in tester mode can be used to estimate the relative charge time. The lower the % shown, the longer the charge time for a given battery.

13.7The battery % shown in charger mode is an indication of the relative prog- ress of the charging process. The higher the battery % displayed, the less charge time remains.

13.8The more a battery is discharged, the faster it absorbs a charge from the charger. That means that the battery % increases faster at the beginning of the charging process than at the end. In other words, it takes longer for a battery to accept the last few percent of the charge than the first several percent.

14.maintenance instructions

14.1Before performing maintenance, unplug and disconnect the battery char- ger (see sections 6.7 and 7.6).

14.2After use, use a dry cloth to wipe all battery corrosion and other dirt or oil from the terminals, cords, and the charger case.

14.3Servicing does not require opening the unit, as there are no user-service- able parts.

15.storage instructions

15.1Store the charger unplugged in an upright position. The cord will still con- duct electricity until it is unplugged from outlet.

15.2Store inside, in a dry, cool place (unless you’re using a UL Listed, on- board Marine Charger ).

15.3Do not store the clips on the handle, clipped together, on or around metal, or clipped to cables.
