EM 3031/EM 3032

RF Wireless Systems 3000 Series Receivers

Mounting the telescopic antennas

The EM 3031 and EM 3032 receivers are fitted with an adjustable RF squelch, which mutes the audio output when the antenna voltage drops below the chosen thresh- old. The squelch can be adjusted between 0 and approx. 100 µV. When the squelch has been triggered, the “MUTE” warning will light up on the receiver display. The receivers are additionally equipped with an AMF advanced muting function. This muting function is triggered when the RF signal suddenly drops by approx. 50 dB. The receiver will then be muted for about 3 seconds to avoid the annoying crackling noise which is caused when a transmitter is switched off.

The EM 3031 and EM 3032 receivers have a headphone output for monitoring the incoming audio signal; the monitoring signal is mono. Sennheiser’s closed HD 25 headphones are an ideal choice for monitoring purposes. In order to enable monitor- ing even in unfavourable conditions (e.g. low AF signal level from the transmitter) and with high ambient noise (on the stage, for example), the signal from the headphone output is up to 30 dB louder than the LINE output signal. However, this may lead to distortion if the level of the incoming signal is quite high and if the volume control is turned up. In this case, turn back the volume until the distortion disappears. If the sound remains distorted, the transmitter itself is overmodulated.

The Sennheiser transmitter range includes many models which transmit battery status information. The EM 3031 and EM 3032 receivers are able to receive this status information. They display the remaining battery or accupack capacity of the transmitter in %. When the battery is going flat and the remaining capacity lasts for only 20 to 30 minutes of operation, the “LOW BATT” warning on the display starts flashing. You should immediately replace the transmitter battery.

EM 3032-V, EM 3032-U specifications

The Sennheiser EM 3032-V and EM 3032-U are advanced wireless microphone receivers designed to provide exceptional sound quality and reliability in various applications, including live performances, broadcast, and public speaking. These versatile components are part of Sennheiser's renowned evolution wireless series, known for their user-friendly operation and superior audio characteristics.

One of the standout features of the EM 3032 receivers is their robust frequency management system. The devices operate in the VHF (EM 3032-V) and UHF (EM 3032-U) frequency ranges, ensuring minimal interference from other wireless systems and electromagnetic sources. This adaptability is crucial in crowded RF environments, allowing users to select the optimum frequencies for their specific location and application.

The EM 3032 receivers are equipped with a dual-channel configuration, meaning they can capture two separate audio signals simultaneously. This is particularly beneficial during live events where multiple performers or speakers are present. The dual-channel setup not only simplifies the audio routing but also provides a coherent stereo output, enhancing the overall listening experience.

Another significant aspect of the EM 3032 series is their exceptional audio fidelity. With a wide frequency response and low distortion levels, the receivers are capable of delivering clear and natural sound reproduction. This clarity is especially important for applications requiring precision audio, such as professional theater productions and corporate presentations.

User-friendly control options are also a hallmark of the EM 3032-V and EM 3032-U. The backlit LCD display provides real-time status information, including battery life, signal strength, and audio levels, facilitating easy monitoring during operation. The front-panel controls allow for quick adjustments to gain settings and audio configurations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.

Moreover, the EM 3032 receivers are built with durability in mind. Their rugged construction can withstand the rigors of transport and on-stage use, making them ideal for touring professionals. Additionally, the devices can be mounted in standard 19-inch racks, offering flexibility in setup and integration into existing sound systems.

In summary, the Sennheiser EM 3032-V and EM 3032-U wireless microphone receivers are highly dependable solutions that combine advanced technology, outstanding audio performance, and user-friendly features. Whether for live music events, corporate functions, or broadcast applications, these receivers deliver the reliability and sound quality that professionals expect.
