Shouldyou wishto inputaudiosignalsIrom a tapedeckor cassette recorderto the transmitter,in additionto the spakenword,thenyoucan connecttheseunitsto the 3.5 mm phonosocket2. IIa microphoneisalso connectedit isswitchedoff automaticallywhenyou inserta jackintothe phonosocket.

IIpossibleusethe record/playbacksocketwhenyou areconnectingyour cassetterecorderor tapedeckto thetransmitter.II onlya headphonesor loudspeakersocketisavailable,then pleasenotethat the phonoinputis onlydesignedlor audiosignalvoltagesbetween75 mVand1.5V.IIthis voltageisexceededlor a briefperiodthe overloadislevelledout bya high- qualitylimitingamplilier.Evenso,suchoverloadsshouldbekeptto an absoluteminimum.You canreducethe inputlevelbyturningdownthe volumecontrolonyour cassetterecorderor tapedeck.

Adjusting the Sensitivity of the Microphone and Phono Inputs

Anadjustmentknob4 withwhichyou canadjustthesensitivityof the microphoneor phonoinputto the levelof the inputsignalis locatedunder

the cover5 (seeFig.4). In additionto the manualadjustmentoptionthe transmitterisalsoequippedwithanautomaticlevelcontrolsystem,which automaticallyreducesthe inputsensitivitywhenthe rateddeviation(the valueat whichtheIrequencydeviation01thetransmitterreaches::t 8 kHz) is,exceeded,thus preventingoverloading.

Pleaseproceedaslollowsin orderto carryoutthe manualadjustment:MicrophoneInput:

1.Connecta pair01headphonesto theAFoutputsocket01the receiver andturn thevolumecontrolknob01the receiver("'t") allthe wayto the right.

2.Switchonthetransmitterandthe receiverTakecarethat. thetrans- missionand receptionIrequenciescorrespondI

3.Turntheadjustmentknob4 allthe wayto the left.

4.Whileyouareadjustingthe levelholdthe transmitterinthe positionin whichit isto beused.

5.Speakintothe microphoneat anormalvolume.Experiencehasshown that a longdrawn-outFrench"uuuuu"isparticularlyeffectivelor level

adjustment.

Whilespeakingintothe microphonelistento yourvoicein the headphones. Increasethesensitivitygraduallyuntilyoucanno langerhearanylurther increasein volume,thenshiftthe adjustmentknob4 onequarter01a turn backto the left.
