Playback sound-actuated recording
Recording automatically starts or pauses by detecting sound
from the stereo system (Synchronised recording).
To interrupt recording
zWhen the stereo system is stopped, the unit will enter the
synchro recording pause mode. When playback is
resumed, the recording will be resumed.
zIf a silence lasts for 3 seconds or more, the recording will
be paused (pause function does not work for approxi-
mately 10 seconds after a recording starts). When the unit
receives sound again, recording automatically starts.
zA new track number is created when the recording
resumes.
1Hold down the REC button for 2 seconds or more.
You can perform the same operation by simply press-
ing the REC button on the main unit.
2To perform group recording, hold down the
GROUP button for 1 second or more so that
"GROUP" is lit.
When group recording is not performed, hold down the
GROUP button for 1 second or more so that "GROUP"
goes out.
3Begin playback on the stereo system connected
to this portable MD.
4Move the M button toward or to adjust the
recording level (page 15).
You can perform the same operation by pressing the
or button on the main unit.
5Press the PAUSE button on the stereo system to
enter the playback pause mode.
Select the starting point for your recording and press the
PAUSE button.
6Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the
recording mode (page 27).
7Press the M button.
zThe unit enters the menu select mode.
zYou can perform the same operation by pressing the
SYNC button on the main unit. (At this time, steps 8 -
9 can be omitted.)
8Move the M button toward
or to select "S(SYNC)"
and press it.
9Press the M button.
Synchro recording will be paused.
10Begin playback on the stereo system. Recording
will begin automatically.
