Recording from a Microphone (continued)

To interrupt recording

Move the M button toward .

zRecording starts by moving the M button toward

again.

zYou can perform the same operation by pressing the

button on the main unit.

zThe track number will be increased by one each time

the recording is interrupted.

To stop recording

Move the M button toward .

You can perform the same operation by pressing the

button on the main unit.

To write recorded contents on the MiniDisc

Move the M button toward whilst in the stop mode.

Notes:

zWhilst making a mic recording, do not connect any-

thing to the OPTICAL/LINE IN socket on the portable

MD.

zTo use a microphone, be sure it is a plug-in-power

type microphone.

zInsert the plug firmly. If you don't, the recording will not

be made properly.

zUse a microphone with a 3.5 mm (1/8") diameter ste-

reo mini plug.

zIf the unit starts recording too often from low unwanted

noises, set the microphone input to "L(Low)".

zRecording sensitivity can be changed whilst recording.

9Move the M button toward

or to select "S(SYNC)"

and press it.

10Press the M button.

Synchro recording will be

paused.

11When a sound, such as person speaking, is

picked up by the microphone, recording will be-

gin automatically. - When a plug-in-power type microphone is plugged in,

the portable MD will provide power for the microphone's

operation.

- If a different type of microphone is plugged in, it may not

operate properly or it may cause the unit to malfunction.
