safety and usage information
Ensure access to em ergency services
Emergency calls from your phone may not be possible
in som e areas or circum stances. Before travelling in
remote or undeveloped areas, plan an alternate method
of contacting em ergency se rvices personnel.
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) certification information
Your phone conforms to European Union (EU)
standards that limit human exposure to radio
frequency (RF) energy emitted by radio and
telecom m un ications equipment. These standards
prevent the sale of m obile phones that exceed a
maximum exposure level (known as the Specific
Absorpt
ion Rate, or SAR) of 2.0 watts per kilogram of
body tissue.
During testing, the maximum SA R recorded for this
model was 0.499 watts per kilogram . In normal use,
the actual SAR is likely to be much lower, as the
phone has been designed
to em it only the RF energy
necessa ry to transm it a signal to the nearest base
station. By autom atically em itting low er levels when
possible, your phone reduces your overall exposure to
RF energy.
The Declaration of Conformity at the back of thi
s
manual dem onstrates your phone’s compliance with
the European Radio & Terminal Telecomm u nications
Equipment (R&TTE) directive. For more information
about the SAR and related EU standards, visit the
Samsung mobile phone website.
