Programme Recording

1Perform steps 1 - 4 in “Programmed play” section on page 9.

2Whilst in the stop mode, press the REC button to start USB recording.

“START” will be displayed for a few seconds and recording will start after the USB device has been initialised.

3During recording process, the display will show normal CD programme playback.

4After the last programme track is played, the unit will stop playback and recording process automatically, and “WRITING” will be displayed for a few seconds.

Notes:

Recording can be operated in CD stop mode only. During CD playback, the REC button is invalid.

USB recording format is fixed to MP3 codec with bitrate 128 kbps.

ID3 tag informations will not be recorded on USB device.

Recording to external HDD via USB terminal is not supported.

USB device memory space for recording is depend on the CD contents and type of recording method.

Do not POWER OFF the main unit whilst “WRITING” shows on the display. Wait until “WRITING” display disappear before turning it off.

“USB FULL” message will be displayed if USB device is set in write-protect mode or if there is insufficient free space in it.

USB folder structure (of recorded files)

When recording files to USB memory, folders inside it will be created automatically.

Example:

The files will be saved in a folder named CDREC001. For next recording session, the next folder will be created and named CDREC002 and so on.

Tuning

1Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.

2Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select FM ST (FM stereo) or FM Mono.

3Manual and Auto tuning to the desired station.

Manual tuning:

Press the TUNING ( or ) button on the remote control repeatedly to tune in to the desired station.

Auto tuning:

When the TUNING ( or ) button on the remote control is pressed for more than 0.5 seconds, scanning will start automatically and the tuner will stop at the first receivable broadcast station. Press the button again to stop the auto tuning.

Notes:

When radio interference occurs, auto scan tuning may stop automatically at that point.

Auto scan tuning will skip weak signal stations.

To receive an FM stereo transmission:

Press the FUNCTION button to select FM ST (FM STEREO) mode and “ST” indicator will be displayed. “” will appear when an FM broadcast is in stereo.

If the FM reception is weak, press the FUNCTION button to extinguish the “ST” indicator. The reception changes to monaural, and the sound becomes clearer.
