CORTE DE PLANCHAS GRANDES

Las planchas grandes y los tableros largos se comban o se doblan según el apoyo. Si usted intenta cortar sin nivelar y sin apoyar la pieza adecuadamente, la hoja tenderá a atascarse, produciendo RETROCESO y una sobrecarga en el motor (Fig. 11).

Apoye el panel o el tablero cerca del corte, tal como se muestra en la (Fig. 12). Asegúrese de ajustar la profundidad de corte para cortar la plancha o el tablero solamente y no la mesa o el banco de trabajo. Las tablas

de dos por cuatro pulgadas utilizadas para elevar y apoyar la pieza de trabajo deben colocarse de manera que los lados más anchos soporten la pieza de trabajo y descansen en la mesa o en el banco. No apoye la pieza de trabajo en los lados estrechos, ya que esta disposición es inestable. Si la plancha o el tablero a cortar es demasiado grande para una mesa o un banco de trabajo, utilice los tablas de apoyo de dos por cuatro pulgadas sobre el suelo y fije la pieza de trabajo.

CORTES AL HILO

La hoja combinada suministrada con la sierra sirve tanto para cortes transversales como para cortes al hilo. El corte al hilo consiste en cortar a lo largo siguiendo la veta de la madera. Los cortes al hilo son fáciles de realizar con un tope-guía para cortar al hilo (Fig. 13). El tope-guía para cortar al hilo está disponible como accesorio (no incluido). Para colocar el tope-guía, introdúzcalo a través de las ranuras de la base hasta la anchura deseada tal como se muestra en la ilustración y fíjelo con la tuerca de mariposa (no incluido).

Cuando se cortan al hilo planchas grandes, puede que el tope-guía para cortar al hilo no permita el ancho de corte deseado. Sujete o clave una pieza recta de madera de 1" (25mm) a la plancha como guía (Fig. 14). Utilice el lado izquierdo de la base apoyándolo en la tablero-guía.
