slot.

• Transparent bridging.

• Aggregate duplex bandwidth of up to 128 Gbps for the SMC8824M or

176 Gbps for the SMC8848M.

• Switching table with a total of 8K MAC address entries and 2K IPv4

address entries or 1K IPv6 address entries.

• Provides store-and-forward switching for intra-VLAN traffic, and IP

routing for inter-VLAN traffic.

• Supports wire-speed switching.

Management

• “At-a-glance” LEDs for easy troubleshooting.

• Network management agent

- Manages switch (or entire stack) in-band or out-of-band

- Supports console, Telnet, SSH, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON (4

groups) and web-based interface

• Slave units provide backup stack management.
