On-the-spot image review is one of the fundamental benefi ts of digital photography.

The maximises this advantage with its large new 3-inch, Xtra Fine LCD screen. With a pixel count approximately four times higher than typical 230K dot screens and contrast approximately

2.8 times higher than previous generation

Sony LCD screens, it offers a photo quality screen display resolution of 270 dpi, higher even than the 200 dpi required for printing. Hybrid construction and an anti-refl ective coating ensure that focus and fi ne details are easy to check – even when viewing outdoors.

Under normal shooting conditions, Auto white balance captures natural colours just as they’re perceived by the human eye. There’s also a range of preset and custom modes to achieve precisely the effect you want. In addition, white balance bracketing captures three frames at different white balance settings for easy best-shot selection.

Built-in fl ash plus external fl ash synchro

The built-in fl ash offers a versatile range of modes, a guide number of 12 (ISO 100–m), and a maximum synchronisation speed of 1/250 sec. (1/200 sec. with Super SteadyShot®).

A new manual control mode allows users to regulate fl ash power regardless of metered exposure values. A synchro terminal enables the use of high-power grip-type external fl ash units and multi-fl ash studio systems.

The new 3-inch LCD monitor offers a range of new viewing and information display options. In addition to conventional histogram and fl ashing highlight/ shadow warning displays, RGB histogram colour balance checking is now added. A new view mode displays fi ve preceding/following frames above the current frame. This greatly simplifi es best-shot selection from a series of bracketed or sequential images. Index view displays 4, 9, or 25 thumbnail frames simultaneously.
