•Do not bend, drop or apply strong force to the “Memory Stick.”

•Do not disassemble or modify the “Memory Stick.”

•Do not let the “Memory Stick” get wet.

•Do not insert any objects other than a compliant “Memory Stick” into the “Memory Stick” slot. It may cause a malfunction.

On location for use

Do not use or keep the “Memory Stick” in the following locations.

–Places subject to extremely high temperature, such as a car parked outside in the summer.

–Places under direct sunlight.

–Places with extremely high humidity or subject to corrosive gases.

Note on using the “Memory Stick Duo”

You can use a “Memory Stick Duo” in your camcorder after inserting it into the Memory Stick Duo adaptor.

You may damage the “Memory Stick Duo” or the “Memory Stick” slot on your camcorder in the following situations.

–When you insert a “Memory Stick Duo” that is not inserted into a Memory Stick Duo adaptor into the “Memory Stick” slot on your camcorder.

–When you insert the “Memory Stick Duo” in

the wrong direction.

If you insert a “Memory Stick Duo” without a Memory Stick Duo adaptor by mistake, hold the camcorder so the “Memory Stick” slot is facing down, then hold the lid aside using a toothpick or similar object to let the “Memory Stick Duo” slide out.

Notes on using the “Memory Stick PRO”

•The maximum memory capacity of a “Memory Stick” that can be used on your camcorder is 1 GB (512 MB for a “Memory Stick PRO Duo”).

•This unit does not support high speed data transfer.

Notes on image data compatibility

•Image data files recorded on a “Memory Stick” by your camcorder conform to the Design Rule for Camera File Systems universal standard established by the JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association).

•On your camcorder, you cannot play back still images recorded on other device (DCR- TRV890E/TRV900/TRV900E or DSC-D700/ D770) that does not conform to the universal standard. (These models are not sold in some regions.)

•If you cannot use a “Memory Stick” that has been used with other device, format it with your camcorder (p. 66). Note that formatting erases all information on the “Memory Stick.”

•You may not be able to play back images with your camcorder:

–When playing back image data modified on your computer.

–When playing back image data recorded with other device.
