Turning off the display

— Power Saving Mode

The demonstration display (display window and buttons lighting and flashing even when the system power is off) and the clock display can be turned off to minimize the amount of power consumed during standby (Power Saving Mode).

Press DISPLAY repeatedly while the system is off until the demonstration display or the clock display disappears.

To cancel the Power Saving Mode

Press DISPLAY while the system is off. Each time you press the button, the display switches cyclically as follows:

* “--:--” is displayed if you do not set the clock.

Tips

The ?/1indicator lights up even in Power Saving Mode.

The timer continues to operate in Power Saving Mode.

Adjusting the brightness

of the display back light

1 Press DIMMER while the system is on.

2 Slide the knob to lor to L(or press .or >on the remote) to adjust the back light brightness.

You can adjust the back light brightness in 11 steps from 0 to 10.

Using the display

You can check the remaining time of the current track or the entire disc.

When a CD-TEXT disc or a disc with MP3 files is loaded, you can also check the information recorded on the disc, such as the titles.

Press DISPLAY.

During normal playback

*1 “--.--” appears when playing the program containing more than 20 tracks or 100 minutes, or MP3 files.

*2 “--.--” appears in “ALL DISCS,” “SHUFFLE” or “PROGRAM” mode, or when playing MP3 files.

*3 CD-TEXT will not be displayed for track number 21 or over.

*4 Only for MP3 files.

*5 May not appear with still images.

*6 Total playing time will not appear for the discs with MP3 files.

*7 Only for CD-TEXT discs or discs with MP3 files. CD-TEXT will not be displayed for track number 21 or over.
