The message “Set Area/Date/Time.” appears when the camera is turned on.
•The camera ha s been left unused for sometime with a low battery or n o battery pack. Charge the
battery pack and set the date again (page 138). If the message appears every ti me you charge the
battery pack, the internal rechargeable battery may be exhausted. C onsult your Sony dealer or local
authorized Sony service facility.
The number of recordable images does not decrease, or decreases two at a time.
•This is beca use the compression rate and the image size after comp ression change depending on the
image when you shoot a JPEG image.
The setting is reset without the resetting operation.
•The batter y pack was removed when the power switch was set to ON. Wh en removing the battery
pack, make sure the camera is turned off and the access lamp is not illuminated.
The camera does not work properly.
•Turn off the camera. Remove the battery pack and insert it again. If the camera is hot, remove the
battery pack, and allow it to cool down before trying this corrective proced ure.
•If an AC Adapt or (sold separately) is used, disconnect the pow er cord. Connect the power cord and
turn on the camera again. If the camera does not work after doing these solutions, consult your Sony
dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
“--E-” is indicated on the screen.
•Remove the memory card, and insert it again. If this procedure does not turn off th e indication, format
the memory card (page 154).
The buttons on the touch panel do not work correctly or do not work at all.
•If you cove r the panel with a commercially available protective film , the panel may not operate.
•If you are tou ching somewhere other than the point you should touch, the panel may not operate
properly.
•Some operat ions cannot be done on the touch panel. In this case, use the control wheel and buttons.
