On charging the battery
Symptom | Cause/Remedy |
Battery life is short. | • The operating temperature is below 5°C (67°F). |
| c Battery life becomes shorter due to the battery characteristics. |
| This is not malfunction. |
| • You did not use your Network Walkman for a prolonged period. |
| c Efficiency of the battery will be improved by repetition of charging |
| and discharging. |
| • The battery is required to be replaced. |
| c Consult your near Sony dealer. |
| • Battery charging time is not enough. |
| c Your Network Walkman requires 15 minutes to check the battery |
| condition to protect it before a quick recharge starts. Keep charging |
| the battery until it is complete (the CHARGE lamp goes out). |

The Charge lamp does not light. | The unit does not operate normally. |
| c Press the reset button to reset the unit (page 48). |

|
The Charge lamp blinks. | You are trying to charge the battery at high or low temperature. |
| c Charge the battery in ambient temperature of between 5˚C to 35˚C |
| (67˚F to 95˚F). The battery will not be charged at high or low |
| temperature to prevent its deterioration. |

On the connection with the computer or supplied software

“CONNECT” is not displayed when connecting to the computer with the dedicated USB cable.
•Wait for the authentication of the SonicStage software.
•Another application is running on the computer.
c Wait for a while and reconnect the USB cable. If the problem persists, disconnect the USB cable, restart the computer, and then reconnect the USB cable.
•The dedicated USB cable is disconnected. c Connect the dedicated USB cable.
•A USB hub is used.
c Connecting via a USB hub is not guaranteed. Connect the dedicated USB cable directly to the computer.
