Protecting a File

To prevent a file from being accidentally

erased or edited, you can protect an

important file. A protected file is marked

with the (protect) indicator and is

regarded as a read-only file you cannot

erase or edit.

1Display the file which you want to

protect.

2Press and hold DISP/MENU in the stop

mode to enter the menu mode.

The menu mode window will be

displayed.

3Press –. or >+ to select “Protect,”

and then press NPLAY/

STOP•ENTER.

4Press –. or >+ to select “ON,” and

then press NPLAY/STOP•ENTER.

5Press x(stop) to exit the menu mode.
