On handling tapes
Donotinsertanythingintothesmallholesontherearofthecassette.Theseholesare usedtosensethetypeandthicknessofthetapeandiftherecordingtabisinorout.
Camcorder care
•Whenyourcamcorderisnottobeusedforalongtime,removethebattery(CCD- TR818only).
•Removethetape,andperiodicallyturnonthepower,operatetheCAMERAand PLAYERsectionsandplaybackatapeforabout5minuteswhenyourcamcorderis nottobeusedforalongtime.
•Cleanthelenswithasoftbrushtoremovedust.Iftherearefingerprintsonthelens, removethemwithasoftcloth.
•Cleanthecamcorderbodywithadrysoftcloth,orasoftclothlightlymoistenedwith amilddetergentsolution.Donotuseanytypeofsolventwhichmaydamagethe finish.
•Donotletsandgetintoyourcamcorder.Whenyouuseyourcamcorderonasandy beachorinadustyplace,protectitfromthesandordust. Sandordustmaycause yourcamcordertomalfunction,andsometimesthismalfunctioncannotberepaired.
AC power adaptor
•Unplugtheunitfromawalloutletwhenyouarenotusingtheunitforalongtime.To disconnectthepowercord,pullitoutbytheplug.Neverpullthepowercorditself.
•Donotoperatetheunitwithadamagedcordoriftheunithasbeendroppedor damaged.
•Donotbendthepowercordforcibly,orplaceaheavyobjectonit.Thiswilldamage thecordandmaycausefireorelectricalshock.
•Preventmetallicobjectsfromcomingintocontactwiththemetalpartsofthe connectingsection.Ifthishappens,ashortmayoccurandtheunitmaybedamaged.
•Alwayskeepmetalcontactsclean. •Donotdisassembletheunit.
•Donotapplymechanicalshockordroptheunit.
•Whiletheunitisinuse,particularlyduringcharging,keepitawayfromAMreceivers andvideoequipment.AMreceiversandvideoequipmentdisturbAMreceptionand videooperation.
•Theunitbecomeswarmduringuse.Thisisnotamalfunction. •Donotplacetheunitinlocationsthatare:
