The browser can be configured to access WAP or HTML sites. The procedure to set up the configuration depends on the server type. See an example for WAP below.

1Select WAP from the Main Menu (or press the Jog Dial backward from standby mode to access the Applications Menu). Then select Settings.

2Select the first field labeled Empty and then select Edit.

3Enter the Security Code (default 0000) at the prompt (see also page 39).

4Select Name to enter a name that will be displayed for your site.

Name: My Provider

5Select Home Page to enter the URL of the home page specified by your Network Operator/Service Provider.

Home Page: wap.myprovider.com

6Select Server Type to select WAP or HTML depending on which type of server your provider has.

Server Type: WAP

7Select Bearer Service to specify the bearer type (Data or SMS) your Network Operator/Service Provider requires.

Bearer Service: Data

8Select Provider to set the following parameters specified by your Network Operator/Service Provider:

Dial Up Number: +12 345 67 890 (number to access the gateway)ISP User Name: abcISP Password: sonyData Call Type: Automatic

9Select the arrow to return to the Edit menu.

10Select GW Server to enter the address of the gateway server of your Network Operator/Service Provider.

GW Server: 10.255.255.255

11Select Security to choose On for a secure connection to your gateway (GW port 9203) or Off for a non-secure connection (GW port 9201) depending on your Network Operator/Service Provider.
