Signal LED

The signal LED indicates the pres ence of a signal at the Transducer‘s input. It is a ctivated at a
-20 dBu level.

WARNING

If an amplifi er is connec ted and the Signal LED illuminates thoug h a signal is not present or
too much noise from the amp is not th e reason, the lighted LED c an indicate a high frequen cy
resonance of the amp.
In this case turn down the master volume of the amp until the LED goes out. High f requency
resonances can overload and damage the guitar amp!
Such problems are not a result of Transducer use, but r eside within the guitar amp.

Speaker Action

This simulates speaker cone character istics at different levels. With a moderate ly driven
guitar box (Speaker Action from 0% -35%), speakers ideally reproduce the signal clearly
without too many side effect s. As levels increase, overtones are adde d by the overdriven
speaker, producing its characteristi c “rasping” distortion effect . Speaker Action allows for
the simulation of this effect.
Speaker Actions is, as with Mik ing Level and Output Gain, a level co ntrol. Turning it to the left
allows only low levels to pass, jus t as with a cabinet driven at low levels. I f a small Speaker
Action is wanted, it mus t be compensated for with a com parable increase in Miki ng Level – in
principle the same as you would n eed to do in working with a cabin et.
Please pay attention to the info rmation under “Leveling the Transduce r” on page 20.

Speaker Cabinet

This switch toggles bet ween an open and closed guit ar cabinet characteri stic.
“Open” sounds defi nitely more open, b rilliant and direct, as the signal contains m ore tran-
sients and produces less punch as wi th the “Closed” setting, wherein the sound h as more
punch and with its added compressi on more closely creates the impre ssion of the compressed
air in a clo sed box , thoug h with l ess bri lliance and det ail.

Speaker Voicing

This off ers the cho ice o f so und a nd a tt ack c har act eri sti cs f ro m eit her aln ico s pea ker s (Sp ark y)
or the British ceramic construc tion (Mellow). The “Sparky” setting pro duces a lively, more
responsive sound with additional overtones, while the “Mellow” setting s ounds warmer and
softer.
