The indicator area displays icons that help you keep track of your signal strength and roaming status, notify you when you receive messages, and indicate whether certain options or features are enabled.

Icon Meaning

The Signal Strength indicator shows the strength of the radio signal. The number of bars increases (up to a maximum of six) as the signal strength increases. Note: This icon is displayed only when data services are available.

When no bars are shown, no connection is possible for one of the following reasons:

You are outside of the Nationwide Sprint Network service area.

The signal strength is too weak.

A network problem is preventing the device from obtaining service.

The Transmit/Receive icon lets you know that a Sprint data connection is active.

The CDMA 1xEVDO icon appears when CDMA 1xEVDO service is available and active.

The Roaming indicator lets you know that you are roaming. Roamng charges may apply.
