NWhile pushing down on the cap, turn it clockwise about 1/4 turn until it comes to a stop.

The marks on the tank cap and fuel tank must line up.

Tank cap should be properly tightened.

If the tank cap cannot be locked in the fuel tank opening

Check cap for tightness. If it can be moved, the bottom of cap may be twisted out of the correct position for installation in relation to top.

NRemove the cap from the fuel tank and check it from above.

NPlace the cap in the fuel tank opening and rotate it counterclockwise until it drops fully into the opening.

NContinue rotating the cap counterclockwise (about 1/4 turn until it stops) – this causes the bottom of the cap to be turned to the correct position for installation.

NTurn the cap clockwise for closing – see section on "Closing."
