Responsibility for use
The standards used by Telxon for evaluation of the PTC-860NI
(Non-Incendive) equipment’s suitability for use in t he
Hazardous Locations specified herein are appl icable in the
United States and may not be applicable ou tside of the United
States. It is the customer’s responsibility to determine whet her
the NI unit will meet the regulatory/safety requirements for it s
operation and in the customer’s jurisdiction.
The customer also assumes full responsibility for the
determination of the proper class of electrical equipment for
use in the Hazardous Locations of its oper ations in compliance
with applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards. Telxon
expressly disclaims any responsibility for such determination.
The PTC-860NI uses a Telxon AF AT nickel-cadmium battery
pack (Telxon part number 14861-000). This battery pac k is t he
only pack approved for use with the PTC-8 60NI.
The PTC-860NI is not user- or field-servi cea ble b e

Use in hazardous locations
The PTC-860NI is approved for use in Class I, Division 2,
Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Division 2, Groups E, F, and G;
and Class III Hazardous Locations.
