1.Unclip the two battery cover latches and remove the battery cover.
2.Fit two ‘C’/’UM2’ batteries into the lower battery compartment, observing polarity as shown.
3.Fit 4 x ‘C’/’UM2’ batteries into the upper battery compartment, observing polarity as shown.
4.Re-fit the battery cover.
FITTING BATTERIES
Referring to the previous section, fit 6 x ‘C’/’UM2’ batteries into the battery compartment.
Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long time to avoid the danger of leakage.
NOTE: Never mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types. Batteries should always be replaced as sets.
BATTERY DISPOSALDispose of used batteries with regard to the recycling regulations in your area. Do NOT short circuit batteries or throw them into water, the general rubbish or in a fire.
Weak batteries can leak and damage the unit. Replace them in good time!
CONNECTING POWER
•Check that the mains voltage marked on the rating plate on the back panel is the same as the voltage in your area.
•Plug the AC power cord into the AC inlet
•Plug the mains plug into the wall socket and switch the mains power on.
POWER CONTROL/FUNCTIONThe power control switch is combined with the function selector, located on the left side of the unit.
To turn the radio on:
•Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the RADIO position.
To play CD/MP3/USB/SD:
•Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the CD/MP3/USB/SD position.
To turn the cassette player on:
•Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the TAPE/OFF position. The power will switch on automatically when a cassette function key is pressed.
To turn the unit off:
•Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the TAPE/OFF position. Check that the cassette player is set to ‘STOP’.
