Installing additional memory (optional)

Removing the memory module
3Gently pull the module out.
CAUTION: Avoid touching the connectors on the memory module
or on the computer. Grease or dust on the connectors may cause
memory access problems.
4Complete the procedure by following steps 10 through 12
in “Installing additional memory (optional)” on page 46.
Checking total memory
When you add or remove memory, you can check that the
computer has recognized the change. To do this:
1Click Start, Control Panel
2Click Performance and Maintenance.
3Click System.
4The General tab view automatically appears and shows
the recognized memory.
5If the computer does not recognize the memory
configuration, turn off the computer, remove the memory
slot cover, and make sure the memory module is seated
