Watching PIP/double-window

The PIP (picture-in-picture) double-window feature allows you to watch two pictures at the same time. The PIP picture can come from a TV broadcast or come from an external source, such as a VCR.

To display a TV broadcast:

1.Select the program you want to watch.

2.Press PIP once to display a small picture. A window 1/9 the size of the screen will appear. Press PIP a second time to display a

double-window.

If the V-CHIP feature is active and you try to watch a TV program that exceeds the rating limits you set, the TV will enter into the program block mode. See “Using V-CHIP menu” on page 33.

To display a picture from an external source in the PIP window:

1.Make sure you have connected the external device properly. See “Connecting your TV” on page 7.

2.Turn on the TV and select the program you want to watch.

3.Press PIP once to open the PIP window. A window 1/9 the size of the screen will appear. Press PIP a second time to display a double-window.

4.Press SOURCE repeatedly to select the input source (TV, VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2 or VIDEO 3) for the PIP window. The selected source will be displayed in purple. ColorStream HD-1 and HD-2 cannot be selected.

While the above menu is on-screen, you also can select the desired signal input source by pressing the corresponding number button (0,1,2 or 3).

To close the PIP window:

Repeatedly press PIP until the window closes.

Note:

The PIP window cannot be opened when ColorStream input (HD-1 or HD-2) is being viewed.

You cannot display an ANT-2 signal source in the PIP window.

NOTICE OF POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS ON TV PICTURE TUBE

Avoid displaying stationary images on your TV screen for extended periods of time. Fixed (non-moving) images (such as still PIP/POP windows or black/gray bars in wide-screen picture or PIP/POP formats) can become permanently engrained in the picture tube. This type of damage is NOT COVERED BY YOUR WARRANTY because it is the result of misuse. See item 33 on page 4.
