MP3/WMA disc compatibility with this player is limited as follows:

• CD physical format:

Mode 1

• File system:

ISO9660, UDF without interleave

• File name:

File names are limited to eight characters or less and must incorporate “MP3” or “WMA”

 

extension.

 

e.g.“********.MP3”, “********.WMA”

 

File names cannot contain special characters such as “?!><+*}{`[@]:;\ /.,” etc.

 

Less than 50 bytes

• Total number of files:

Less than 650

• WMA codec version:

V2, V7, V8, V9 (Stereo sound only)

Set a CD that contains MP3/WMA files

1 and close the disc cover.

A menu appears.

2 Press / / / to select a file name you want to play.

3 Press ENTER.

Playback starts.

To stop the playback

Press STOP.

To pause playback

Press PAUSE/STEP during playback.

Notes

Some discs may not permit this operation.

WMA tracks copy-protected cannot be played.

The BITSTREAM/PCM jack outputs MP3/WMA sounds in the linear PCM format regardless of the current “Digital Out” selection. 49

If you stop playback by pressing the STOP button, and then press the PLAY button, playback will start from the beginning of the track.

The SKIP, REPEAT and RANDOM functions are also available.

No sound is output during fast reverse playback (REV) and fast forward playback (FWD) of MP3 files. Also, REV and/or FWD is unavailable for WMA files.

This player requires discs/recordings to meet certain

technical standards in order to achieve optimal playback

quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are automatically set to these standards. There are many different types of

recordable disc formats (including CD-R containing

MP3/WMA files). Because this area of technology is still evolving, Toshiba cannot guarantee that all recordable

discs will produce optimal playback quality. The technical criteria set forth in this owner’s manual are meant only as a guide.

To resume normal playback, press the PLAY button.
