Basic Operation continued

Telephone or Telephone/Network Protection Jacks: These jacks protect your equipment against surges over a telephone line or telephone/network data line, depending on model. Connecting your equipment to these jacks is optional. Your UPS will work properly without this connection.

USB Port: The USB port connects your UPS to any USB workstation or server. Using this port, your UPS can communicate line-fail and low- battery status. Use with Tripp Lite software and any USB cable to automatically save open files and shut down equipment during a blackout. Contact Tripp Lite Customer Support or consult your power protection software manual for more information.

Battery Replacement Door: Under normal conditions, the original battery in your UPS will last several years. Battery replacement should be performed only by qualified service personnel. Refer to "Battery Warnings" in the Safety section. Should your UPS require battery replacement, visit Tripp Lite on the Web at www.tripplite.com/support/ battery/index.cfm to locate the specific replacement battery for your UPS.

Power Sensitivity/Lowline Adjustment: This dial is normally set fully counterclockwise, which enables the UPS to protect against waveform distortions in its AC input. When such distortion occurs, the UPS will normally switch to providing PWM sinewave power from its battery reserves for as long as the distortion is present. In some areas with poor utility power or where the UPS’s input power comes from a backup generator, frequent brownouts and/or chronic waveform distortion could cause the UPS to switch to battery too often, draining its battery reserves. You may be able to reduce how often your UPS switches to battery due to waveform distortion or brownouts by experimenting with different settings for this dial. As the dial is turned clockwise, the UPS becomes more tolerant of variations in its input power’s AC waveform and reduces the voltage point at which it switches to battery. NOTE: The further the dial is adjusted clockwise, the greater the degree of waveform distortion and the lower the input voltage the UPS will allow to pass to connected equipment. When experimenting with different settings for this dial, operate connected equipment in a safe test mode so that the effect on the equipment of any waveform distortions in the UPS’s output can be evaluated without disrupting critical operations. The experiment should last long enough to assure that all expected line conditions are encountered.

External Battery Connector (Select Models Only): Use to connect a single Tripp Lite external battery pack for additional runtime. The specifications section of this manual lists the Tripp Lite external battery pack that is compatible with select models. Refer to instructions available with the battery pack for complete connection information and safety warnings.

OMNIVS1000, OMNIVS800 specifications

Tripp Lite’s OMNIVS series of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) is designed to provide reliable protection for home and office electronics. The models in the series, including the OMNIVS1500XL, OMNIVS1000, OMNIVS800, and OMNIVS1500, deliver key features that enhance performance, efficiency, and user experience.

The OMNIVS1500XL is the highest capacity model in the series, offering 1500 VA / 900 Watts of power. It features automatic voltage regulation (AVR), which stabilizes voltage fluctuations without switching to battery power, ensuring that connected equipment receives consistent power. The LCD display provides real-time data on battery status, load levels, and estimated runtime, making it easy for users to monitor their power situation.

The OMNIVS1000, with a capacity of 1000 VA / 600 Watts, meets the needs of users who require reliable power for desktop computers, networking equipment, and other sensitive electronics. Like its larger counterpart, this model includes AVR and a user-friendly LCD interface. With several outlets, it enables multiple devices to be protected simultaneously, ensuring that everything from gaming consoles to home office equipment remains powered during outages.

For users with lighter power requirements, the OMNIVS800 delivers a capacity of 800 VA / 450 Watts. This model is ideal for more compact setups, providing enough power for essential devices while still maintaining the features that Tripp Lite is known for, such as AVR and a clear LCD display.

The OMNIVS1500 combines a balance of power and features, making it a versatile choice for small to medium office environments. Featuring a capacity of 1500 VA / 900 Watts, it is equipped with multiple outlets to accommodate various devices.

All models in the OMNIVS series feature advanced battery technology, ensuring efficient power management and long life. They come equipped with a range of outlets, including surge-protected and battery-backed options, enabling users to prioritize the protection of sensitive equipment. Additionally, the compact design of these UPS units allows for easy integration into various environments, whether on a desktop or tucked away in a rack.

Overall, the Tripp Lite OMNIVS series provides an effective solution for safeguarding essential electronics against power disruptions while offering features that enhance usability and performance across different models.
