Terminology Used in this Manual
Base | The main part of the phone that connects to your phone |
| line and lets you make and receive calls. |

Charger | A cradle that charges an accessory handset. It connects to |
| power but not to a phone line. |
|
|
Accessory | A handset that works with an expandable phone base. |
Handset | Accessory handsets must be registered to a base. |
|
|
Standby | The handset is not in use. If it is off the cradle, no line has |
| been activated. No dial tone is present. |
|
|
Talk | A telephone line has been activated on the handset |
| enabling a dial tone. |
|

Installing Your Accessory Handset
Follow these steps to get your new handset ready to use.
Step 1: Connect the Charger
