Terminology Used in this Manual
Base | The main part of the phone that connects to |
| your phone line and lets you make and receive |
| calls. |
Charger | A cradle that charges an accessory handset. It |
| connects to power but not to a phone line. |
Accessory Handset | A handset that works with an expandable |
| phone base. Accessory handsets must be |
| registered to a base. |
Standby | The handset is not in use. If it is off the cradle, |
| no line has been activated. No dial tone is |
| present. |
Station | Any handset or the base. |

Talk | A telephone line has been activated on the |
| handset or the base, enabling a dial tone. |
