QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE

Step 1 Charging the Battery

TO INSTALL THE HANDSET BATTERY

1	Remove the cover.
	Connect the
2	battery pack
	connector with the
	correct polarity.
3	Replace the cover.
TO PLUG INTO AC POWER
1	Plug the AC adapter cord into the base
1	unit and then into a 120V AC outlet.

2 Place the handset on the base.

Note: You must charge the battery continuously for 15 - 20 hours before using the phone.

Step 2 Connecting

CONNECT TO A PHONE LINE

When the handset battery pack is fully charged, after 15-20 hours of charging, plug the telephone cord into the base unit and then into a telephone wall jack.

Your phone is set for tone dialing. If your local network requires pulse dialing, please see “Choosing the dial mode” on page 17.

Step 3 Setting Up the Caller ID/Language

Note: Three Caller ID options are available: AutoTalk, Caller ID on Call Waiting (CIDCW), and Area Code.

TO CHANGE CALLER ID OPTIONS

1	Press call id/menu.
2	Press	or	to move the pointer to
	an option.
3	Press select to change the option
	setting.
4	Press end and return the handset to
	the base.
TO CHOOSE THE LANGUAGE
1	Press call id/menu.
2	Press	or	to move the pointer to
	Language.
3	Press select to select Eng (English) or
	Fr. (French).
4	Press end or return the handset to
	the base.

Step 4 Setting Up the Answering System

TURN THE ANSWERING SYSTEM ON

Press ans on/off.

		status
	delete		play/
			stop
A pre-recorded greeting
will play and your	repeat/rew		skip/ff
will play and your	set/ringer	menu	greeting memo
system is ready to	ans on/off	find hs	volume
accept calls.

TO RECORD A PERSONAL GREETING

	Press and hold		status
	greeting until	delete		play/
	greeting until			stop
1	you hear “Record	repeat/rew		skip/ff
1	greeting” and a	set/ringer	menu	greeting memo
	confirmation	ans on/off	find hs	volume

tone.

Record your personal greeting. (Position

2 yourself as near to the base as possible and speak clearly.)

3	When finished press greeting again or
	play/stop.
