When installed in this fashion, your satellite speakers will be crossed over at 80Hz which removes the lower bass from your amplifier and speakers, enabling them to do a better job reproducing high frequencies. By utilizing this method, you will have a bi-amplified system, gaining improvedpower and headroom for your system.

This will eliminate the internal crossover from the signal path.

If not using an external crossover, you should use the built-in crossover for optimal performance.

Interconnect Cables

WheninstallingyournewVelodynesubwooferusingthelinelevelconnections, you should always use shielded phono cables. There are many decent cables available today, most any of which will work perfectly well. We do recommend that you keep the length of cable as short as possible to avoid any potential noise problems.

When routing cables, try to keep them away from equipment which generates significant noise such as industrial or digital equipment.

Placement

Truesubwoofersoperateatextremelylowfrequencieswhichareprimarily omni-directional. While it is recommended that the subwoofer be placed on the same plane as the satellite speakers, room and system conditions often dictate otherwise. Keep in mind that frequency response and output

HGS-12X specifications

Velodyne Acoustics is renowned for its commitment to delivering high-performance subwoofers, and the HGS series—comprising the HGS-12X, HGS-10X, and HGS-15X—showcases this dedication. Each model in the HGS series incorporates cutting-edge technology designed to elevate the listening experience, making them ideal for both home theater setups and critical music applications.

The HGS-12X is equipped with a 12-inch driver that delivers powerful bass response while maintaining precision. It features a built-in 1,000-watt amplifier, ensuring enough headroom for dynamic peaks without distortion. The patented "Digital Signal Processing" (DSP) technology optimizes the subwoofer's performance by analyzing the incoming audio and adjusting the output in real-time. This results in accurate and deep bass that enhances the fidelity of any audio source.

The HGS-10X, with its 10-inch driver, is the most compact model in the series but doesn’t compromise on performance. It shares the same high-quality 1,000-watt amplifier and DSP technology as its larger counterparts, ensuring that it can produce rich bass tones despite its smaller size. This makes the HGS-10X an excellent choice for users with limited space who still desire powerful low-frequency output.

The HGS-15X, featuring a robust 15-inch driver, is designed for those who crave the deepest bass possible. Like the other models, it benefits from a powerful 1,000-watt amplifier, but what sets it apart is its ability to reproduce low-frequency sounds with remarkable clarity, making it a favorite for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts alike. Its larger driver allows it to move more air, resulting in a bolder and deeper sound profile.

All models in the HGS series incorporate Velodyne's proprietary "Room Gain Compensation" technology. This feature adapts the subwoofer's output to account for the unique acoustics of the listening room, ensuring optimal performance regardless of the environment. Users also have the option to fine-tune their bass experience with adjustable volume, phase, and crossover controls.

In addition to their impressive performance characteristics, the HGS subwoofers are built with aesthetic appeal in mind. They sport a sleek design that fits seamlessly into modern home décor while being robust enough to handle heavy use.

In summary, the Velodyne Acoustics HGS-12X, HGS-10X, and HGS-15X subwoofers exemplify high fidelity and engineering excellence. With their advanced technologies, powerful amplification, and stylish designs, they cater to a range of preferences and requirements, making them a top choice for enthusiasts dedicated to outstanding audio performance.
