What To Do If You Smell Gas
•Do not try to light any appliance.
•Do not touch any electrical switch, do not use any phone in the immediate area.
•Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.
•If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.
Lighting Instructions
1. Turn the gas
2. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. If you then smell gas STOP! Follow the safety information above. If you don’t smell gas, go on to the next step.
3. Light a match and lay it on top of the pan material, about 2” from the end of the supply side of the pan. (Fig. 14)
4. Slowly turn the gas

Operation and Maintenance
To Adjust the Flame:
Adjust the flame to the desired level by rotating the gas valve counterclockwise to open or
clockwise to close.

Proper Maintenance:
•Keep the area around the log set clean and clear of debris.
•Occasionally, you may use a soft bristle brush to clean logs.
•Once every year, a qualified agency or certified chimney sweep should examine and clean the venting system of the fireplace in which the log set is installed.

1.Ignite a 2” flame and maintain it for 1/2 hour.
2.Burn the logs in consecutive 1/2 hour periods, raising the flame an additional 2” to full flame height for a total of three hours.
