The DView supports Multichannel Television Sound (MTS), the broadcast audio standard that allows transmission of both stereo and Secondary Audio Program (SAP) content.

The SAP is usually a foreign-language translation. However, it can also be used for other purposes such as Described Video Services (DVS), which provide descriptive narration of key visual elements in programs for the benefit of the visually impaired.

Stereo Sound/SAP (VL-52 only)

You can select sound options (Mono, Stereo, SAP or Mono+SAP) depending on the broadcast signal by pressing the MTS/SAP button on the remote control.

Choose Stereo for channels that are broadcasting in stereo.

Choose Mono for channels that are broadcasting in mono, or if you are having difficulty receiving a stereo signal.

Choose SAP to listen to the Secondary Audio Program.

Choose Mono+SAP to listen to both the primary and secondary audio programs (for example, when a program has a DVS audio track).
