Setting Infeed Table

Height

The infeed table on the Model W1755 has positive stop bolts that, when properly set up, allow the operator to quickly adjust the infeed table between finish/final cuts (top height) and shaping/heavy cuts (bottom height).

We recommend setting the minimum depth of cut to 1/32" and the maximum depth of cut to 1/8" for most opera- tions. DO NOT exceed 18" cut per pass on this machine or the risk of kickback and serious injury will greatly increase!

Each positive stop bolt (Figure 57) controls the top or bottom range of the table movement. The jam nut locks the positive stop bolt in position so it will not move dur- ing operation.

Calibrating Depth Scale

The depth scale on the infeed table can be calibrated or “zeroed” if it is not correct.

To calibrate the depth scale, do these steps:

1.DISCONNECT JOINTER FROM POWER SOURCE!

2.Loosen the infeed table positive stop bolts.

3.Use the straightedge to help adjust the infeed table exactly even with the outfeed table, as shown in

Figure 58.

4.Using a screwdriver, adjust the scale pointer to “0” (Figure 59), then reset the infeed table positive stops.
