5 Press ENTER to stop the test tone, press the cursor button lor hto select a speaker to adjust, then press ENTER again.

Pressing the cursor button lor hsteps through the display indication as follows:

TEST TONE

BALANCE C (center)

BALANCE RS (right surround: right rear)

BALANCE LS (left surround: left rear)

BALANCE SW (subwoofer)

Example: Adjusting the right rear speaker level

Select BALANCE RS, then press ENTER. The unit displays the following indication, and the left and right main speakers and the right rear speaker output a test tone at the same time.

Notes

You cannot adjust the level of the main speakers. Instead, you adjust the level of the center, left and right rear speakers based on the level of the main speakers.

No test tone is output from speakers marked “None” in the selected speaker mode (see the speaker mode chart on page 31). In this case, you will be unable to adjust the level.

6 Press the cursor button lor hto adjust the level balance.

Press the cursor button to move “+” one step. Press hto increase or lto decrease the selected speaker level relative to the main speaker level.

• One step equals 0.5dB.

7 Press ENTER to confirm the setting.

The unit displays the next speaker’s balance setting.

8 Press SETUP.

The unit displays the standard screen.

Adjusting the brightness of the display

You can adjust brightness of the display.

DIMMER

Press DIMMER.

Each time you press DIMMER, the brightness changes as follows:

bright dark auto

If “auto” is selected, the display dims during disc playback. If you pause the disc or operate the unit, the display brightens temporarily.

Changing the time indicator

You can select a time indicator style for Super Audio CD playback.

TIME

Press TIME during playback.

Press TIME to change the time indicator as follows:

Track elapsed time

Track remaining time

Disc remaining time

Note

The unit does not display a disc’s remaining time during pro- gram play or random play.
