Spark plug inspection

The spark plug is important engine components, which should be checked periodically.

1.Remove the screws 1, and then remove the cover

4.Check for discoloration and remove the carbon. The porcelain insulator around the center elec- trode of spark plug should be a medium-to-light tan color.

5.Check the spark plug type and gap a.

Standard Spark Plug:

BPR6HS (NGK)

Spark Plug Gap a:

0.6–0.7 mm (0.024–0.028 in)

TIP

The spark plug gap should be measured with a wire thickness gauge and, if necessary, adjusted to specifi- cation.
