Formatting USB storage media

Formatting USB storage media

When a USB storage device is connected or media is inserted, a message may appear prompting you to format the device/

media. If so, execute the Format operation.

1Engage the format mode.

After making sure that the USB ﬂash memory is connected to the instrument,

press the [PLAY/STOP] button while holding down the [MOVING KEY] button.

2Search USB storage media to be formatted.

Press the [PLAY/STOP] button to start the search. A “n–y” message will appear

on the display if a USB ﬂash memory device to be formatted is found. To cancel

format, press [–/NO] button before pressing the [+/YES] button in step 3.

3Start the format.

Press the [+/YES] button.

When the format operation is ﬁnished, an “End” message appears on the dis-

play.

4Exit from format mode.

Press the [–/NO] or [+/YES] button to exit from format mode.

CAUTION

The format operation overwrites any previously existing data. Make sure that the media

you are formatting does not contain important data. Proceed with caution, especially

when connecting multiple USB storage media.

NOTE

The initialize mode cannot be

engaged while song playback is

active in BGM mode.

NOTE

If no media is found or initializa-

tion is failed, an “Err” message

and the error code will appear

alternately on the display.
