Selecting and Playing SongsThe PSR-280 features a total of 105 songs. These include 100 songs that showcase the rich
and dynamic sounds of the instrument, and all 100 of these songs can be used with the educa-
tional Lesson feature (page 60), a powerful tool that makes learning songs fun and easy. Ten of
the songs are special Demonstration songs that can be played automatically by pressing the
[DEMO] button. Moreover, there are five special User songs to which you can record your own
performance.
The User songs are “empty” and cannot be played until something has been recorded to them.
(For instructions on recording your own songs, see page 55.)
Selecting and Playing a Song
1Press the [SONG] button.
2Select the desired song number.
Use the numeric keypad.
You can use the numeric keypad to directly enter the song number, or use the
[+]/[-] buttons to step up and down through the songs.
● Song Playback Display
These display the notes and name of
the current chord.
Current measure number
* The indication “F t” appears in the display when a song
having a "free" tempo is selected. (See page 13)
Certain songs have been composed or arranged in "free"
tempo, meaning that the tempo and/or the time signature
are not constant during the piece. As a result, when a
"free" tempo song plays back, the measure, beat and
timing indications are not shown in the display.
Indicates the tracks currently playing back. (These can
be alternately muted and sounded during playback by
pressing the corresponding SONG MEMORY buttons.)
About the Beat Display
The arrow marks in the beat display flash in time
with the rhythm of the song or style. The first
arrow indicates the first beat of the measure, and
the others flash in sequence.
