SInstall required shield properly before using the trimmer attachment. Use only specified trimmer head and spool; make sure it is properly installed and securely fastened.

WARNING: Inspect the area to be trimmed before each use. Remove objects (rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, etc.) which can be thrown by or become entangled in line. Hard objects can damage the trimmer head and be thrown causing serious injury.
SInspect unit before use. Replace damaged parts. Make sure all handles, guards, and fasteners are in place and securely fas- tened. Parts that are damaged must be re- paired or replaced by an authorized service dealer. These include head parts that are
cracked, or chipped, guards, and any other part that is damaged.
SKeep firm footing and balance. Do not over- reach or use from unstable surfaces such as
ladders, trees, steep slopes, rooftops, etc.
SKeep all parts of your body away from cut- ting head and spinning line.
SKeep the cutting head below waist level. Do not raise handles above your waist. Cutting head can come dangerously close to your
body.
SUse unit properly. Use only for trimming, edg- ing, scalping, and mowing. Do not force unit. It will do the job better and with less risk of in-
jury at the rate for which it was designed.

Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an
authorized service dealer unless otherwise indicated elsewhere in the instruction manual.
SUse only recommended attachments and re- placement parts to avoid creating a hazard and/or voiding warranty.
