Maintenance schedule

Below you will find some general maintenance instructions. If you need further information please contact your service workshop.

Daily maintenance

1Check that the harness is not damaged.

2Clean the outside of the machine.

3Check that the components of the throttle control work safely. (Throttle lock and throttle control.)

4Check that the handle and handlebar are undamaged and secured correctly.

5Check that the stop switch works correctly.

6Check that the cutting attachment does not rotate at idle.

7Clean the air filter. Replace if necessary.

8Check that there are no fuel leaks from the engine, tank or fuel lines.

9Check that the guard is undamaged and not cracked. Replace the guard if it has been exposed to impact or is cracked.

10Check that the blade is correctly centred, is sharp, and is not cracked. An off-centre blade will cause vibration that could result in damage to the machine.

11Check that the trimmer head is undamaged and not cracked. Replace the trimmer head if necessary.

12Check that the locking nut is tight. Check that the locking screw is tightened when using a support cup with bearings.

13Check that the transport guard for the blade is intact and that it can be secured correctly.

14Check that nuts and screws are tight.

15Check that the screws that hold the bevel gear are tight.

Weekly maintenance

1Check the starter and starter cord.

2Clean the cooling fins on the flywheel.

3Check that the vibration damping elements are not damaged.

4Clean the outside of the spark plug. Remove it and check the electrode gap. Adjust the gap to 0.5 mm or replace the spark plug. Check that the spark plug is fitted with a suppressor.

5Clean or replace the spark arrestor mesh on the muffler (only applies to mufflers without a catalytic converter).

6Clean the carburettor compartment.

7Clean the cooling fins on the cylinder and check that the air intake near the starter is not blocked.

8Check that the bevel gear is filled three-quarters full with lubricant. Fill if necessary using special grease.

Monthly maintenance

1Clean the fuel tank.

2Clean the outside of the carburettor and the space around it.

3Clean the fan and the area around it.

4Check the fuel filter and the fuel hose. Replace if necessary.

5Check all cables and connections.

6Replace the spark plug. Check that the spark plug is fitted with a suppressor.

7Check and clean the spark arrestor mesh on the muffler (only applies to mufflers fitted with a catalytic converter).
